Michelle Plouse graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a BA in Classical Studies and a minor in history (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa).  While there she was an active member of the classics community and had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Rome for a quarter. She received the Sol and Esther Draznin scholarship for the study of ancient Greek and her research paper “Greed: The Role of Avarice in the Culture and Economy of Classical Athens” was funded by the Stevenson Challenge Program.  In 2017 the Stanford undergraduate journal Aisthesis published her paper “Chthonic Communities: The Earth and Belonging in Antigone.
