Mo (they/them) graduated from the late, great Hampshire College in 2024 with a self-designed B.A. in Ancient Gender & Imperialism and Politicized Ecologies. They then completed a masters in Classics at the University of Georgia. Their master’s thesis concerned sweat and spit in ancient Rome. Its three chapters argued that when sweat and spit appear, they stand to indicate realities of imperial violence, the erotic, and autonomy, all of which bear weight in our contemporary world.

Primarily, they research classical reception in the past fifty years. Their current project is an investigation into classical reception in the Epstein files. Other interests include white, queer affinity for the ancient Mediterranean and its relationship with white supremacy. They still research ancient gender and imperialism, particularly in and around ancient Rome. They study these systems most closely in Latin satire, invective, novels, and elegy. Mo loves board games, their two cats, teaching, and public libraries.
