Professor Kathryn Morgan will deliver a lecture entitled “Plato and the Historical Imagination,” on Friday, April 28 at the SNF Centre for Hellenic Studies at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada.
The lecture examines how Plato highlights issues of emotional and intellectual engagement with historical narrative in certain dialogues, modelling for the first time a vision of projection into the past and engaging with the allure of counterfactual history.
