Zachary Fletcher
Zachary holds a BS in Computer Science (with highest distinction) from the University of Rochester and has received an MA in Classics and the Sarah Plummer Memorial Prize from Tufts University. His MA qualifying paper, “Anaxyrides on Fire: How to Interpret Xenophon’s Assertion that Cyrus Does Not Lie?,” explores the Greek understanding of lying through Xenophon’s treatment of Cyrus the Younger in the Anabasis.
His professional experience ranges from consultant for a boutique software firm to, most recently, Senior Software Engineer for Google. He is also the technical advisor for the Perseids Project, a suite of digital tools used to teach and research ancient languages, hosted by Tufts University.
In addition to his academic interests, Zachary would like to use technology to make Greek and Latin texts more accessible. In his free time, he enjoys comedy and birding.
