Elisa McAtee

Elisa McAtee (she/hers) graduated with a B.A. in Classics and Comparative Literature from the University of Southern California in 2021 (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and received her post-baccalaureate certificate in Classics with distinction from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2022. Her classics thesis applied Greek medical writings to explore the relationship between the body and the environment in Sophocles’ Philoctetes. Her comparative literature thesis is the first to establish the intertext between Theresa Hak Kyung Cha’s Dictee and her mother Hyung Soon Cha’s lesser-known work The Little Black Spot I Left Behind, published 15 years later. Elisa’s primary interests are Greek tragedy, literary theory, and classical reception in Asian American literature.
